Hi there. Can I ask a couple of questions to get a handle on things?

What's your budget?

Uses for the system, streaming, editing, design etc?

What monitor will you be using with the build? Make and model or resolution and refresh rate would be handy to know 👍

Also, please can you edit your post to include the configurable link URL (see the info below)? It'll help others suggest any changed without having to go through the whole build process. Ta!

Hey AgentCooper,

Thanks for your reply. I have edited that now and added the link :D

My budget is around £1900, but would like to spend around £1700-£1800 if possible as the monitor I was going to purchase along side would be the following: (open to suggestions)

MSI Optix AG32CQ Curved Gaming Monitor 31.5 Inch - 1ms - 144H

I will be using the rig to play games(potentially stream), I also work as a 3D artist so will be using 3d software like Maya etc. I remote onto a work computer so it's not essential, but would be nice to have for personal work. Basically I would like a build that's going to last me a while before needing to upgrade parts.

Hope this helps - Thanks :D

Okay, cheers for the info 👍

I’ve done a bit of rejigging on the spec and got the most current CPU in there. The new AMDs have improved on their previous iterations considerably so the 5800X will definitely last you.

I’ve improved the storage a bit so you’ve got a fast boot drive and a second M.2 which will give you fast loads on your games and should hopefully help boost speeds on your projects.

You’ll notice there’s no GPU in there, I’d want to put the upcoming 3060Ti in there (we should know more about the release date in the next couple of weeks). It’s looking like a great match to go with the monitor you’ve got your eye on. Rumoured to be around the £350 mark which fits your budget too! So if you’re not desperate to hit the order button, I think this system is potentially worth waiting for 🙂

Hey there, I'm a complete newbie to this, and I'm currently building my first PC. I have a query regarding fans/casefans and particular for the CORSAIR CRYSTAL SERIES 570X RGB GAMING CASE. If anyone could offer any advice, it would be great! :)

I understand that this case comes with 3 corsair fans on the front of the case as default. If I was to get the Corsair H100i Processor cooler, would the 2 fans from this cooler cover the roof of the case? If so, does that leave space for one more fan at the rear of the case?

I noticed you can select an additional 3x Corsair LED case fans with the build, but not one individual. If the above is correct, would I have to install the rear case fan myself?

Sorry if this makes no sense - let me know if you need anymore information or if this is in the wrong location on the forum.

Thanks

Yes, exactly, they’d likely install the cooler fans at the top so you’d need to get an extra individual fan and add it yourself if that’s what you were after.

Depending on what components you choose you may not need an extra exhaust fan, if you paste your proposed spec over we can check it over for you 👍

Great, thanks AgentCooper! Specs are below, however I've just realised that the H100i Cooler is sold out and the other dual RGB coolers dont fit in that case. I really wanted this case in particular. I noticed there is an ETA of 17.12.2020 for the cooler, but it wont let me proceed, it just tells me to select another case or cooler. Is there anyway to bypass this and wait as part of my order?

The CoolerMaster MasterLiquid 240 would be the budget replacement option for the Corsair cooler. Your system will normally spend a little while in the ‘pre-production’ phase, you could potentially put your order in soon with a placeholder cooler in there and then upgrade it when the Corsair comes back into stock.

What are your uses for the system going to be and what make and model of monitor have you got, out of curiosity?

I see, that could be an option. Will it be in pre-production for a while because of my 5800X Cpu pre order? or just in general? If I was to downgrade the CPU slightly to a part that requires no pre-order would the build time be around 13-15 days as suggested? or would it be quite a while because of how many people are currently queuingdo you think?

My system is going to largley be used for 1080p gaming, maybe push it into 1444p once I deceide to go for a new montior. My current monitor is a standar 1080p Dell(needs upgrading very soon)

Yep, it’ll be the CPU that holds the order back. As none of us forum members actually work for PCS, no way of us knowing how long things would be, you’d have to contact them directly.

I would personally grit my teeth and be prepared to wait, the improvements on the new Ryzen chips are phenomenal, it’ll be worth it.

Unless you’re flight simming, you could drop the RAM down to 16GB. And whilst the new AMD GPUs are looking fantastic, the previous iterations are known to have many driver issues, some severe enough that they end up being expensive bricks. If you’re gaming at 1080p, the 1660 Super is the way to go.

Long term, your system is crying out for a 3070 and an ultrawide monitor, it’ll be a real game changer. I’ve recently acquired one of these and it’s brilliant...

Also... I never answered one of your original questions. With that case and the H100i RGB Platinum you wouldn’t really need an extra exhaust fan 👍
