Corsair Compatibilities ??!! Extra fan issue (English post)

Hi everyone,

I'd like to have your opinion on this setup and if you see any incompatibilities :
- In this case is there enough clearance for Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM with a 240mm AIO rad on top ?
- Will a CV550w power Corsair power supply fit with the 3,5''HDD case ?

And finally, do you guys know how I can add a single Corsair RGB fan in the "extra fan" section ? I have 5 fans in the case and would a sixth one at the rear as an exhaust. There is a single fan option to choose from but it is not RGB, and I woud reaaaly like the sixth rear fan to be RGB like the rest of them :)))) They let me choose between x3/x5 packages for RGB but they won't let me pick them since then the total amount of available fan slots in the case would be exceeded ...
Does someone know how I could get just that one RGB fan ? :(

Thanks in advance for your time, and looking forward to your insight,

Cheers

Thomas

To answer your questions:

- It depends on the case. Best way to know is add it to the configurator then click proceed and it will come up with a message if it won't fit.
- You really want a TxM PSU as a minimum....the CV series are fine for low budget builds. TxMs are quieter and have less wiring to interrupt airflow
- The RGB fan...you would need to phone PCS themselves and ask. Sometimes they can accomodate requests but it just depends if they have RGB fans around

As to the rest of the build, you may be better of with an AMD system. If you want advice on the overall system, one of us can provide it but we'd need to know uses, maximum budget and monitor to be used with it

Thanks alot for the answers !

Why would an AMD system suit better ?

Yes I would be very glad to have advice on the overall system !

The main use will be for gaming.
No overclocking but cooling and airflow is nonetheless really important for us because it gets hot here and room temmperature is very high in summer (no AC and old old house). And good dust filtering (old house).
Maximum budget is 2000€ but the less the better, and we'd fancy glass+RGB's this time 😁
And as for monitor we're separately buying an MSI 1440p VA curved one. 144MHz. 350€

Cheers

AMD is more stable in terms of temperature and also security, the Intel chipset is near end of life, and any motherboard you get now would be stuck with it (you wont be able to upgrade to a new Intel chip when it comes out, it wont be compatable).
Performance-wise, AMD are also beating Intel pretty much everywhere unless you get the top spec Intel chip and overclock it, the AMD 3900X out performs the Intel 10700K on reviews and testing that i have seen (in stock configuration). Its only when you overclock the system that the Intel chip gbecomes better.
I had to learn all of this myself recently lol I went Intel on my build and then changed it after getting advice.
You will also get more for your money with a AMD chip.
The H100i is an excellent cooler, but I have no experience of running a computer in a very warm climates.

If the monitor is separate, 2000 euros will very easily get you a good system to run 1440p, I'll throw something together as a rough idea, but i strongly recommend you get feedback from the moderators or some of the more experienced forum members...i am very much a novice as building pcs!

So, rough starting point...and uses most of your budget...
Can easily trim a little off the cost with a few changes but this should be a very quick machine, good for gaming and happily run the monitor you mentioned.
You can even add more fans in, RGB if you want, you have the glass side and a mesh front so all the lighting should display well.

Cheers for the insight mate

From what I've seen the glass of the meshify C is really heavily tinted, for me it kinda defeats the purpose of seeing the inside. I wouldn't want it to hinder on the RGB effects inside.

I know there is a light tinted version of the meshify C but fidn't see it avaialble here

I thought the one on PCS is the plain glass, Fractal do several versions of the Meshify C, and I thought the tinted one was the "Dark" model.

It is worth checking with PCS though, to make sure.

@sibun1 has posted a good spec there. Personally, I'd change a couple of things:

Case
CORSAIR CRYSTAL SERIES 570X RGB GAMING CASE - Gives you both the noticeable RGB lighting as well as the clear panels all in a case that is excellent (even I like this case and I am not a fan of RGB lighting)
Processor (CPU)

AMD Ryzen 7 3800X Eight Core CPU (3.9GHz-4.5GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4)
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B550-PLUS (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready! - For your needs, the 550 Board is fine and saves a bit of money
Memory (RAM)

16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3600MHz (2 x 8GB)
Graphics Card
8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2070 SUPER - HDMI, 3x DP GeForce - RTX VR Ready!
1st Storage Drive
2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE - Plenty of storage space for games not currently being played, documents etc
1st M.2 SSD Drive

500GB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 3500MB/R, 3200MB/W) - A slightly smaller and slower primary drive (but still lightning fast compared to nroaml SSD drives)
Power Supply

CORSAIR 750W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Wireless/Wired Networking

Obviously the case is a subjective area as only you will know what you like the look of...either case from these specs is excellent and will do a good job.

Do you know if this case do good dust filtering ? Coz we're in an old house and there's dust everywhere :/
