Building a PC, any thoughts and comments would be appreciated!

Fairly new to actually building a PC so any thoughts/concerns would be appreciated!

Going with a Samsung Odyssey G7 27" 240hz monitor. System is really for high end gaming. Budget isn't too much of a concern, can go up to £4k if i need to, but don't really want o waste money unnecessarily.

Was initially looking at Intel, but AMD seems like a much better choice.

Thank you all!

Take a read of this especially the AMD v intel section

Case
CORSAIR iCUE 5000X RGB MID TOWER GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12 Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.8GHz/70MB CACHE/AM4) 12 cores is more than enough for gaming, the 5950x performs slightly worse as it is intended for productivity as opposed to gaming performance.
Motherboard
ASUS® ROG STRIX X570-F GAMING (USB 3.2 Gen 2, PCIe 4.0) - ARGB Ready!
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO DDR4 3200MHz (4 x 8GB) 32GB will be ample for gaming, in fact most titles will be be fine with 16GB. Gone for slightly faster RAM, 3200mhz is the sweet spot with Ryzen CPUs.
Graphics Card
10GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 - HDMI, DP, LHR Can consider the 3080ti for top end performance, more expensive but should cut down your wait time a fair amount, recent builds are around 85 and 23 working days respectively.

1st M.2 SSD Drive
2TB SEAGATE FIRECUDA 520 GEN 4 PCIe NVMe (up to 5000MB/R, 4400MB/W) Rejigged the storage. Got the 980 pro for your OS to have as much speed as possible. The firecuda is for your games, even with directstorage you’re unlikely to be getting any benefit from loading games on a faster drive than that. Plus a smaller HDD for general storage. 14TB is huge, when you’re dealing with that much data I would advise looking at a NAS or cloud storage.
Power Supply
CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET For the 3080 I would recommend the 850W RMx minimum, with the 3080ti the 1000W is a good investment. If you want to keep playing the latest titles at high frame rates you’re going to need to keep upgrading the GPU and this PSU will support some beefier, more power hungry GPUs that come out in the next few years.

The very maximum it makes sense to spend on a gaming PC on this site is around £3500. I've put that build below: you can see it differs from yours in quite a few ways.

I can't quite comprehend needing 17TB of storage: if you really do, you need to sort yourself out with a NAS, not a noisy hard drive in your main case. This build has 6.5TB, while also being faster. Surely that's plenty?

Elsewhere, I've stepped the CPU down to 12 cores (actually better for gaming), sped the memory up (though 32GB is ample for any game that exists), gone to the 3080 Ti (because you have the budget for it and the G7 can just about use its capabilities), increased the capacity of the power supply, improved the cooling beyond compare, and gone to a sensible WiFi card.

This build is still hard to recommend. I could easily take £500 off it and still be very comfortable recommending it: this is a long long way into luxury territory.

Seems really good and your reasoning makes sense! I plan to also use the system as a DAW with my guitar & amp (Protools etc.). Would the current set up be ample for that too? Would having a better sound card influence this at all?

Completely ample.

A sound card would not be worthwhile; they aren't really better than the motherboard's built-in sound these days. In your situation, though, I'd get a halfway decent USB interface to do sound input and to act as a headphone amp.

Sorry for digging this back up, but i've been reading into water cooled PCs, would this set up benefit for being rebuilt as a liquid series PC instead?

No, probably not. They offer very little performance advantage, while being much, much more expensive and a pain to maintain. AIOs are almost maintenance-free.

Thank you!
