Automatic Repair

I logged onto my computer like normal and it was absolutely fine. It gave me a pop up to say that there was some sort of update that needed to be done so I clicked it.
it started loaded and slowly going up in percentage and said something similar to “your computer will reset a few times”, to which it did.
But now it says “Automatic Repair. Your PC did not start correctly, press ‘restart’ to restart your PC, which can sometimes fix the problem. You can also press ‘advanced options’ to try other options to repair your PC”

whenever I press restart it goes black, resets my computer and comes with with “preparing automatic repair” with the buffering icon then goes back to the same screen. I’m not amazing tech savvy when it comes to this sort of stuff and I really do not want to mess up my computer by doing something incorrect.
Has anyone experienced this and know what I can do?

Is this a PCSpecialist machine? Can you post your full specs from the order page?
Yes it is a PC Specialist computer I ordered in September 2019. My old PC specialist account no longer exists for some reason as I had to make a new one with the email address I used for my order and this is the only image I can find at the moment of the specs which was on my invoice when ordered.

Best to contact OCS to get your old account working as you’ll need it. Without it you don’t have warranty or any path to upgrades.

Are you allowing it to complete automatic repair? What happens at the end of that?

I’m going to sound really simple, but what is OCS? Because I will definitely get the account running again if I can!

It says “Automatic Repair. Your PC did not start correctly, press ‘restart’ to restart your PC, which can sometimes fix the problem. You can also press ‘advanced options’ to try other options to repair your PC” so I press Restart -> it then goes black on the screen and the PC beeps and restarts -> then comes up with a black screen with the pc specialist logo and says “preparing automatic update” -> then goes to another black screen saying “Diagnosing your PC” -> then goes back to a blue screen saying the “Automatic Repair. Your PC did not start correctly, press ‘restart’ to restart your PC, which can sometimes fix the problem. You can also press ‘advanced options’ to try other options to repair your PC” it’s like an endless loop. Hopefully the images appear in the order of the restart process to show what happens

Sorry meant PCS not OCS.

you need to continue through startup repair, so rather than restarting the computer, follow the directions to go through startup repair.

Oh okay!
Tried the startup repair, it then said it was attempting repairs and then came to a page to say it couldn’t repair the PC (sorry I’m making the pictures smaller because they don’t fit otherwise)

That's a shame.

Ok, we may still be able to get around it but it's more of a fiddle.

You need to create a bootable windows usb from here (create windows 10 installation media):

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

Then boot from the USB and select startup repair from there, that should fix windows boot up (method 2 here):

I don’t have another computer to use to download this onto a USB unfortunately unless there’s a different way around that? This is so difficult!

The BSOD Doctor
This rather sounds like a forced upgrade to 20H2 to me, and one that's glitched out - perhaps because of bad drivers, unknown/unsupported hardware or software, or just bad luck.

I wouldn't be mucking about once Startup Repair has failed, I would recommend a fully clean install of 20H2.
