Advice on gaming pc

Hi this is my first time designing a custom pc and I would appreciate advice on a AMD build. I recently changed my mind from a Intel to an AMD CPU after some recommendations.

My budget is about €2,150. I'm hoping that the pc will be good enough to handle programming and some gaming and be at least somewhat better than my i3-7100U laptop.
I'm also kinda worried that it may take too much electricity.

Any feedback is very useful especially about the
Case (I really want one available on the site that looks nice, has good dust filters and can support a DVD drive ),
Processor ( Do I need a better one?),
Motherboard ( Should I upgrade it?),
Memory (RAM) ( Is it enough?) ,
Extra Case Fans ( Do I need more?),
1st Storage Drive (Is is it a good one),
Monitor ( Can it work with the pc?).

The monitor is a very poor basic monitor...you really want a better one than that. Taking into account your programming which, presumably, needs decent CPU power, we can get you a 1440p 65Hz system so it will cater to your programming needs and do a decent job of gaming (ideally, I'd want a 2070 Super and GPU to match to get 144Hz but that would mean sacrificing the CPU power):

Thank you for the reply. The new build is a bit out of my price range, is there a way to keep the build under or around €2,100?
I have a few more questions:

Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 3800X Eight Core CPU (3.9GHz-4.5GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4)

Is the AMD Ryzen 7 better than the Ryzen 9?

1st Storage Drive
2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE
1st M.2 SSD Drive
500GB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 3500MB/R, 3200MB/W)

Is there any way to keep the old M.2 SSD. I kinda need the 2TB and the 2TB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe is way too pricey for me.

Processor Cooling
CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Lite 240 High Performance Liquid Cooler

Is CoolMaster better than FrostFlow? I have been told prior that FrostFlow is really good.

Thank you very much for you reply.:)

Thank you so much this build looks really good.:)

I just have two more questions:

1. Should I upgrade to a Ryzen 9? Would that make a difference?

2. Would I still be able to download and play games from the storage drive? I've been told that it's mainly for storage and I can't run games well on drives that the OS isn't installed on.

3. Does that case come with an optical drive? I didn't see one in the image.

All in all, this build is perfect!

Thanks again!

I was really hoping for more space for games, but thanks for clearing up that confusion. I may be able to upgrade the case to the
CORSAIR OBSIDIAN SERIES™ 750D FULL TOWER CASE though then.

Do you know if I can download games or installations using the Blue-Ray writer? I'm not sure if it can only be used to play DVDs or if it can also be used for installations.

Thank you very much you were extremely helpful, especially since it is quite late:LOL:.

I'll have to relook the specs again but its very likely I'll keep almost all of everything you recommended. I don't know if I need that big a monitor? So I might look for alternatives.

Thank you again.

Hopefully the last thing, I get this message when I try to save the quote:
You have selected a 650W power supply, but based on our calculations you actually only need a 450W power supply. We have calculated your specification to require around of 449W power including a 20% allowance. Although it is not a mandatory requirement to select a lower wattage power supply, doing so will save you money and the last thing we'd like to do is over charge you

Would it be okay if I I lowered the power supply to 550W and added two fans. Or would that effect the pc in some way?

This is my almost final build. I chose this case because I liked how accessible the dust filters are but I can still change it.

The only thing I'm on the fence is the SSD I kinda need 2TB so I'm not sure if I should move somethings around or save to get the
2TB Samsung 970 EVO plus.

Yeah sorry that was confusing on my part. So would getting Samsung 2TB would compromise on the CPU?
I was also worried that if I upgraded to 2TB later on, I wouldn't be able to transfer the Windows since it says that it's single permission and I would have to buy it again.

Its tempting. I'm not sure if I need 1440p, even though it would be nice. It depends on how different they would be.

Thank you very much for the help. I'll try looking up comparisons between them its a hard choice for me.

Unfortunately you aren't going to get everything you want for this price point. You either need to sacrifice gaming, productivity or the case size to get closer to your budget.

There are things that are important to your build, and things that aren't. The LED strip for example. The following gets you closer to your storage wants, with an added bonus, and also doesn't have any impact on the productivity or gaming aspect of what you are looking for. Anything you want to change from this build to be more in line with what you would like should be an addition, as substituting money anywhere in this is going to impact something. Basically, I'm stretching everything as much as I can see possible while still remaining completely productive.

I re-jigged it at bit more and removed the blue-ray drive. I can get an external drive later on. Would this work and is the case good enough?

I would drop the Acrtic paste. It's not really required and I'm not a fan of how PCS apply the thermal paste.
