A little update on my side. The laptop has been repaired and returned. Everything works now flawlessly. So that's great!
glad to know. could you please let us know what bios & vbios version you are on?

also it's pretty weird my return arrived earlier than yours, but they are not even repairing it yet. today they told me they are still waiting for a free technician.

Oh this is weird indeed. Maybe it has to do with out locations as I'm based in the UK? No idea.

I'm not a computer expert sadly, but I did a google search on how to look up my BIOS version. I hope that this is the information you requested:

BIOS Version/Date Insyde Corp. 1.07.04TPCS, 20/04/2020

That’s fantastic! Do you know what they did?
No idea to be honest.

Finally you can rest your eyes now hahahha, btw i have the same BIOS version so apparently that's not the problem, can you check the vbios please? To do so, download a software called GPU-Z (light and few megabytes) and as soon as you open it you should see a bunch of numbers and labels, you should look for the label "BIOS version" and the number associated with it . Thanks!

okay, so after 3 weeks, mine is finally on the way back to me.

from their fault report, i can see they replaced the display panel to a different model AUO B156HAN08.0

this is the same model the other clevo vendor is using.

Hi,
I just received the nova 15 today, and I have this issue too. It's been ordered on August and yet they didn't fix it. Do I really have to send it back or is it a software issue I can fix right now ?

It's indeed the same panel LM156LF-1F02.
So strange they didn't replace it before sending it even after fixing yours.
Thanks for the feedback anyway.

Hi Deya,

This actually appears to be a BIOS issue which has now been resolved by another company who also uses the base chassis as this the Nova. Please reach out to PC Specialist and request a BIOS update if you're familiar and happy doing it yourself.

For information - Please see this thread on Reddit which XMG have responded to themselves:
****Removed competitor Links*****

I've had confirmation from ***Competitor**** that this BIOS will also work for our laptops - but please, for the sake of the warranty, awaiting the BIOS from PC Specialist.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: The links have been removed due to containing a subreddit use by a competitor. For ease, the bios which resolves the issue is: 1.07.07.

Please all note that if you flash any BIOS without PCS's consent you will almost certainly void your warranty. From the Terms and Conditions:

7.9 We reserve the right to suspend the warranty or refuse service if your Case, Motherboard, CPU or BIOS have been replaced without authorisation. Any tampering, repair or modification by unauthorised personnel voids the warranty.

Hey Ubuysa,

Yea, don't want people invalidating their warranty hence why I said reach out to PCS. They've authorised a BIOS update for myself, just currently waiting for the download!

Stay safe,
Josh

Also I would advice all people using pcspecialist services to open their laptos and check if the heat sync screws are screwed in - in my case they were not screwed in at all so the heat sync was holding on the thermal paste only.
I dont want to wait months tho for them to replace my screen. I can see some people suggesting a BIOS flash solution. Do I just need to update to a newer BIOS version or there is a specific BIOS flash for that?

Yeah, I received the email today after speaking to support on Friday. Brightness adjustment now working. Only difference is the spalsh screen in Post no longer says PCS.

Glad to hear you're now able to see the screen without headaches!
In the grand scheme of things, the splash-screen's only a very short image :p
